Sečovlje salt production museum
The Salt Production Museum is located in a restored saltern house on the Giassi canal in Fontanigge, and exhibits the museum’s salt pan collection. The museum is divided into three parts: the single-storey house in which the salt worker's family lived, the former ground-floor warehouse, featuring the room where salt used to be stored, and the restored bread oven, which is a real specialty of the Sečovlje salt pans. You can also see the salt fields and the canal for supplying sea water, and learn about the old way of extracting salt from the sea. Photo: © Jaka Ivančič
