The fairytale waterfall of Veli Vir represents a hidden corner of the Koper hinterland that only a few people know about. An eight-meter-high waterfall pours over a rock threshold into a large emerald green pool. Only this one is big enough to form a small lake, which offers a pleasant way to cool off in the summer. The starting point for the hike to the waterfall is at the village of Sokliči, and the well-marked trail is undemanding and ideal for a family trip.
