Day trip to Padna
Day trip to Padna
Padna is an old Istrian village with stone houses huddled next to each other and around the village church of St. Blaise. Next to the church stands a 26-metre-high stone bell tower, which was built by the people of Padna in 1885. On the renovated premises of the former Padna school, there now resides a gallery dedicated to Božidar Jakac, where a collection of his graphics and drawings is on display. That’s right, one of the most prominent Slovenian painters of the 20th century spent his
childhood right here, in Padna. Photo: © Jaka Jeraša
