Authentic Istrian cuisine and a rich wine tradition

Gastronomy is an important part of the cultural heritage of Slovenian Istria, which is why we pay special attention to it at the Salinera resort. In addition to fresh local ingredients, Piran salt, Istrian spices, and olive oil, our culinary selection is rounded off by several varieties of excellent Istrian wine.

Istrian dinners

At Hotel Salinera, we organise weekly "Istrian dinners", where we serve our guests typical Istrian dishes. There’s lots of fish, seafood, and dishes prepared with produce from local gardens, as well as selected local wines.

Local gastronomy and rich wine culture

The cuisine of Slovenian Istria is primarily based on simple-to-prepare dishes made from locally grown seasonal ingredients. This ensures freshness and rich flavours throughout the year, so it is no surprise that Istrian cuisine is among the healthiest in the wider coastal region. Also don't forget to pair your meals made with local ingredients with some excellent local wines.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with our unique Istriana dessert, consisting of fennel-infused almond mousse, fig jam, a layer of roasted pine nuts with rosemary, gluten-free carob sponge, and natural white chocolate glaze. You can also choose other seasonal desserts made with many local ingredients.
